I am not the best source for information on your Hamilton County ancestors, unless I happen to share the same ancestors. There are several other good places to take your questions on your ancestors and on Hamilton County in general.

1. This first thing you should do is post a query on the Hamilton County, Illinois Query/Data board. A multitude of Hamilton County researchers utilize this board.

2. You can subscribe (it's free) to the Hamilton County e-mail list and post your questions there. Many Hamilton County researchers hang out on this list and there is a good chance you will find some answers or hints for your questions. This list is also archived, so you can search through past postings using one of two methods:
• Interactive search (which searches all postings back to 1997)
• Threaded archives (which contains postings back to May 1999)

3. If you can't find any data on your ancestors at this web site, you might also try some of the Hamilton County Related WWW Links on the main page. Carol Yarbrough's Yesterdays in Hamilton County, IL is an especially good resource.
